Our Mission

The mission of JRI PACT is to provide intensive and comprehensive home-based care for people with HIV to ensure their successful navigation of their treatment and the healthcare system. PACT community health workers help patients navigate referrals to healthcare and social services, provide patient advocacy (accompany patient appointments), and provide home-based care (direct observation therapy). PACT also works to maintain an active, positive presence within the community.

PACT works within the Justice Resource Institute (JRI), which does various community projects. One of these initiatives is GLASS, a drop-in center for LGBT youth of color. During non-COVID times, HMS students can volunteer as mentors.

In the past, PACT has also had an affiliated doctor who would host presentations and question and answer sessions with community health workers to help community health workers understand the medical issues their patients face. An HMS student could fill this role over Zoom if interested.
